Dr Usha Kathyayini

Dr. Usha Kathyayani BAMS, MD (Yoga)

Dr. Usha has been associated with the academic field for over  15 years, teaching Ayurveda since 2003 and later teaching MSc Yoga students since 2015. Dr. Usha’s focus is on the proper understanding of Health and Diet and the impact of the mind over our overall health and wellbeing.

Topic: Health and Diet on Ayurveda Perspective.

Vidwan M. Shankar Bhat

Vidwan M. Shankar Bhat

Vidwan M. Shankar Bhat, was born in Kasaragod District, Kerala. He studied at the Govt. College Kasaragod, Mysore University, and in Bangalore, he completed his M.A. in Sanskrit and Kannada.  M. Shankar Bhat, a Vidwan in Alankar Shastra, worked as a Sanskrit & Kannada pandit at Kumaran Park High School and retired honorably as a headmaster. He worked as a Lecturer in Sanskrit at Maharani Lakshmi Ammanni College and Sindhi College until 2019. He also conducted Sanskrit classes and exams under “Sanskrit through the correspondence of Sanskrit Bharathi”. Along with the said accomplishments, Vidwan M Shankar Bhat has organized and held lectures on Advaithaphilosophy and Indian heritage and culture under Vedanta Bharathi.

Topic: Teachings on food habits as per Bhagavadgeetha and Upanishads, Smrithis and Puranas.

Dr. M A Alwar

Vidwan Dr. M.A. Alwar

Dr M A Alwar is a renowned professor of Nyaya Sastra from Govt. Maharaja’s Sanskrit College,Mysore, Karnataka Sanskrit University. He’s been a current professor at the university for 20 years, teaching Indian Philosophy and logic texts at the graduate and postgraduate levels. In addition, he has been a research scholar for three years at the Indian Council of PhilosophicalResearch in New Delhi &in Rashtriya Sanskrit VidyapeethaTirupathi.

Being the current Hon. Project Director of Transdisciplinary University, Foundation for the revitalization of Local Health Traditions, Bangalore, he is known for the implementation of projects such as:

  1. Digital repository of medical manuscripts and books of Karnataka
  2. A comprehensive dictionary of Ayurveda from Sanskrit to English&Kannada
  3. Critical edition, translation, and publication of rare books of Ayurveda and traditional dietetics and other such projects

He is also an approved guide for M.Phil and PhD students of the Karnataka Sanskrit University who is presently guiding 5 PhD students and has successfully guided 1 M.Phil student.

Along with the said accomplishments, he is an Honorary Associate of the Samskriti Foundation, Mysore, and an Honorary Editor and Advisor for research projects such as:

  1. Preparation of comprehensive dictionary of yoga
  2. Preparation of an electronic descriptive catalog of manuscripts dealing with science and technology
  3. Preparation of the history of the philosophy of Visistadvaita and other projects.

Last but not least, he has authored five books and has edited &published more than 50 books on various topics in his field of expertise.

Raghunath Srivatsa

Raghunath Srivatsa

Ragunath has done multiple roles in the technology field right from chip designer, Production supervisor, Linux enthusiast, Solaris system administrator, and many more. He is a freelance journalist for a leading media company for the last 7 years.

Now he is also into the hospitality/hotel industry. His wife who is a cancer survivor runs a sattvik restaurant, Satkriti Sattvik, in Jayanagar, Banglore where Ragunath works full time. Both Ragunath and his wife follow sattvik lifestyle for the past 15 years.

Ragunath has suffered from arthritis and during the course of recovery he did a lot of outdoor activities like swimming and cycling, he completed 7000 kms in 11 months as per strava.

Ragunath regularly does basic Yogasana, pranayama/Kriyas and Meditation.He is experimenting with hypnotherapy with a small group to improve their emotional and mental health.

He says life is beautiful and challenging at the same time. Ragunath is happy about social media, as it has made him be in touch with many of his colleagues and friends.
